Rocio Novara

Rocío Navarro is a somatic water healer, ceremonialist, integration guide, and sociologist with over 20 years of experience in the healing arts. Born to migrant parents from Michoacán, Mexico, and raised in Los Angeles, her work is rooted in indigenous-based healing traditions, ancestral remembrance, and embodied practices centered on land and water.

Rocío weaves epigenetics, sound healing, meditation, and somatic inquiry, using water—particularly natural bodies of water—as a catalyst for nervous system regulation, trauma healing, and personal transformation. Her work focuses on ancestral healing, grief, sexual trauma recovery, and womb healing, bridging academic insight with lived experience to support deep, sustainable integration and reconnection.

Aligned with the mission of Groundswell Institute, Rocío brings a trauma-informed, somatic, and culturally grounded approach to ocean-based healing. Her teaching supports practitioners in integrating nervous system regulation, ethical facilitation, and reverence for land and water into sustainable surf therapy practice.
