Arielle Katz, AMFT (she/her/ella)

Arielle earned her undergraduate degree in Family Studies and Human Development from the University of Arizona, where she first discovered her passion for mental health. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at San Diego State University. During her time in graduate school, Arielle was part of the Spanglish program, where she learned and practiced therapy in Spanish, deepening her commitment to honoring cultural background and the freedom of authentic language expression. Having grown up in Mexico, Arielle deeply values offering therapy in Spanish and bringing this part of her lived experience into the therapy room, creating a space where clients can express themselves fully and naturally in their language.

Finding Groundswell in 2022 brought a deep sense of excitement and alignment for this lifelong surfer, offering a space where mental health, healing, the ocean, and surfing are woven together. Arielle blends trauma-informed care with mindfulness, somatic practices, and nature-based healing. She has experience as a bilingual therapist in community mental health and school-based settings, and currently provides individual therapy both online and in person, as well as facilitating surf therapy groups with Groundswell.
